Self Portrait

For this project, we need to make a self-portrait that contemplated our life experiences using the design principles that we have learned before.

Idea Exploration & Description

This photo was taken last year when I had a vacation with my family to Labuan Bajo. It was a beautiful place where there are buildings that resemble buildings in Santorini and the view directly faces the beach and other islands. I choose this photo as my reference because I like minimalist buildings and I love nature. I also love how I use sunglasses and off shoulder top in this photo.

When I saw this photo, I was thinking that this pic is really me. Minimalist buildings, nature, sunglasses, and the "showing shoulder" pose. But, I also love night skies so I got the idea to change the photo from day to night.

Final Outcome

This is the final design that I've made. I edited the sky and the colors to make this pic looks like it's at night. The clouds and stars are my favorites because I enjoy watching the sky at night. This design also applies the design principles that we have learned which are harmony and emphasis.

Feedback & Reflection

At first, I wasn't sure that this final design is good, so I made another design. But the lecturer told me that this design tells more about me and I agree with her. I had a lot of fun doing this project, but also a little bit stressed by the deadline and other assignments. I think if I have time, I want to make another self-portrait and explore more about myself.
