Final Assignment : Ready to Wear Collection

FINAL PROJECT

Week 9 - Week 14

For the final assignment, we are required to make 2 ready to wear garments. This assignment is in collaboration with the introduction to fashion design module, which is the unconventional wearable art.

First of all, I made the initial ideas development and chose 2 designs. Below are my final designs for this collection.

Next step is making the technical drawings. Technical drawing is very important in the fashion design process. It shows the pattern cutter shape of the garment when laid flat. The technical drawing allows you to keep design lines and details in real size as the drawings are presented with correct body proportions. Below are my technical drawings.

Garment Making Process

First of all, i cut the main fabric, jacket interfacing, and lining. After that i pressed the interfacing on the main fabric, then sew it together. After sewing the base of the dress, i started to add the net and the texture which is the pull tabs. i’m using hand sewing technique to attach the tin can pull tabs. Lastly, i sewed the lining onto the inside part of the dress. Below are some pictures that i took during garment making.
